Today I’ve been experimenting with a technique which I discovered from studying one of my favourite artists – #ørnulfopdahl, one of Norway’s foremost landscape painters. The technique uses oil paint but with a medium called ‘oil tempera’ where basically linseed oil is mixed with egg and a small amount of water. This has the magical effect of enabling the artist to dilute oil paint with water (in a very unpredictable way which leads to fascinating textures). This is my first attempt and I’m very excited to try it on other subjects in the coming days and weeks! As this technique is new to me I’m not offering this one for sale as I’d like to test its stability and how long it takes to dry.
